I am undecided on the colour yellow
Its different shades draw me close
With the promise of a new flower
Its core and petals a sight for sore eyes
With the break of a new dawn and setting of an old sun
A beautiful breach in the line where sky meets land
With the buzz of bees busy with their tasks
Working hard to make every drop of honey
With the assurance of riches
Piled up neatly in gold bars and rings
I resist the shades of yellow when I remember
The pungent smell of vomitus
Spewed from sickened guts
The skin hue that is a sign
The hallmark of a liver gone bad
The dryness of humour
Seeping from the pores of a choleric fellow
The heartlessness of a friend
When they turn betrayer
I remain undecided on the colour yellow
But will take each shade as it comes
One shade at a time

Yellow in all its spectrum is beautiful with your pen. Golden this!

I was obsessed with yellow a while back, so enjoyed reading this all the more, seeing someone else’s take on yellow. Of course, the style also helped. ๐
Just realized this could sound condescending. It’s late here, so forgive me if it does. Seriously, I did enjoy your style.

The many sides of everything… Here… I choose the gold in the sunrise and in the work of the bees…
